SELEN GÜLÜN (セレン・ギュリュン): 作曲家、アレンジャー、ピアニスト、歌手、大学講師。様々な現代音楽のスタイルで、作曲や演奏を行っている。彼女の作曲した楽曲は、母国トルコのみならず、ヨーロッパの12カ国、ブラジル、米国、日本、カンボジア、パキスタン、ロシア、モザンビーク、オーストラリア等、世界20カ国で演奏されている。現在までに6枚のCDアルバを作成。「Answers」は、ディスクユニオンのJazz Tokyo Weekly Chartにて第6位、「Başka」は第4位を獲得。2017年4月にリリースされた「Kadınlar Matinesi」(女性のマチーネ) はトルコの女性作曲家、作詞家の曲を演奏したライブアルバムである。イタリア人Marcello AllulliとEmanuele De Raymondiと共に、Gülünはこの3名のコラボによる新たなプロジェクトを開始し(Gülün/ Allulli/ De Raymondi)、KAPI（トルコで「ドア」という意味）を2016年11月にイタリアのレーベルEvArtからリリース、2017年2月にはインターネットでも配信されました。

As a leading contemporary musician in Turkey, Selen Gülün combines her Western music education and her Turkish soul in her work as composer, pianist, vocalist, and arranger. She attained critical acclaim internationally with her music performed in 20 countries, including Brazil, the USA, Japan, Cambodia, Pakistan, Russia, Mozambique, Australia, and 12 countries around Europe. Gülün has released six albums to date. Answers (2010) reached #6 and Başka (2013) reached #4 in the Jazz Tokyo Weekly Chart. Kadinlar Matinesi, released in April 2017, is born out of her concert series featuring the works of women composers in Turkey. With her long-term Italian collaborators Marcello Allulli and Emanuele De Raymondi, Gulun launched a multicultural project and released KAPI on the Italian label EvArt in Nov. 2016 and on digital platforms in Feb. 2017.

Gulun / Allulli / De Raymondi’s electro-acoustic, improvisational debut album was published by the Italian label EvArt in November 2016 and released on all digital platforms in February 2017. Her compositions have been premiered by Dartford Symphony Orchestra and Vellinger String Quartet (UK), Phil Wilson’s Rainbow Band (USA), Ensemble TRIS (Austria), sa.ne.na Percussion Ensemble, and Istanbul Modern Music Ensemble (Turkey). She has received many awards including Charles Mingus Composition Award 1998, British Council Visiting Arts: Creative Collaboration in Music 2003, Fondazione Donna Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Musica’s Artist in Residence Award 2011. She is working on a book commissioned by Fondazione Adkins Chiti in Rome, entitled “Woman Composers of Turkey” that will be published in 2017. She studied music at Istanbul University and the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatories and graduated from Istanbul University’s Business Administration Department. She received her B.A. in Jazz Composition summa cum laude from the Berklee College of Music in Boston (1998) and Master’s in Music from Istanbul Technical University’s Center of Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM). She taught Piano Performance, Music Theory, and Composition at Istanbul Bilgi University’s Music Department from 1998 to 2015.
