トルコ人作曲家、ピアニスト、歌 Selen Gülün (セレン・ギュリュン)がトリオで、東京に帰ります。トルコの代表的な現代音楽家であるセレン・ギュリュンは、トルコの魂と西洋音楽の融合ともいうべき音楽で、国際的にも高く評価されている。セレンは既に5枚のアルバムを発表しており、彼女が作曲した音楽はヨーロッパをはじめ、日本、アメリカ、ブラジル、ロシア、カンボジア、モザンビーク等幅広く演奏されている。ぜひ、彼女の演奏のなかに潜む、トルコの調べを探しに来てください。2016年にには6枚目のアルバムKAPIをイタリアと日本でリリース予定。これは、長年コラボレートしてきたイタリア人Marcelo AllulliとEmanuele De Raymondiと制作したものである。

Selen Gülün is back in Tokyo! Turkish composer, pianist, and singer Selen Gülün will be joined by Takuya Sakazaki on bass and Akira Nakamura on drums after they performed together in Berlin in May. As a leading contemporary musician in Turkey, Selen Gülün combines her Western music education and her Turkish soul. It is possible to hear traces of Turkish music in her work as composer, pianist, and singer. She has attained critical acclaim internationally and had her music performed in countries around the world including Austria, Germany, Holland, Iceland, the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, France, the USA, Japan, Cambodia, Pakistan, Lithuania, Russia, Mozambique, and Turkey. She has released five albums to date with two more on the way this year. KAPI, her electro-acoustic, improvisational album with her long-term Italian collaborators Marcello Allulli and Emanuele De Raymondi will be released in Italy and Japan.

SELEN GÜLÜN (セレン・ギュリュン)
作曲家、ピアニスト、歌手、編曲者。
セレンは、イスタンブール大学国立コンサーバトリーや、米国のバーリクー大学等、数多の音楽大学で教育を受ける。
セレンは、様々な現代音楽のスタイルでの作曲やパフォーマンスが特徴で、その積極的な活動は、Charles Mingus Composition Award, やthe British Council Visiting Arts、Creative Collaboration in Music等、これまでに数多くの賞を受賞してきた。セレンが作曲した音楽は、母国トルコのみならず、英国、ドイツ、デンマーク等をはじめとした各ヨーロッパ諸国の他、アメリカ、ブラジル、ロシア等でも演奏されている。
これまでに5枚のCDアルバム、Just About Jazz Live (recjazz, 2006), Selen Gülün Trio Sürprizler (recjazz, 2006), Selen Gülün by Selen Gülün (re:konstruKt, 2009), Answers (pozitif, 2010), and Başka (linrecords, 2013)を発表しており、まもなくリリース予定の6枚目のアルバムthe Women’s Matineeは、セレンのライブコンサートを収録したものである。Answers reached #6 and Başka reached #4 in the Jazz Tokyo Weekly Chart. 2016年にには6枚目のアルバムKAPIをイタリアと日本でリリース予定。これは、長年コラボレートしてきたイタリア人Marcelo AllulliとEmanuele De Raymondiと制作したものである。
また、セレンは、現役の作曲家であり演奏家であると同時に、教育者として、大学で Piano Performance, Music Theory, and Compositionの教鞭を執る。

Gülün started her early music education at the Istanbul University State Conservatory. After graduating from Istanbul University Business Administration Department, she continued her music education at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in Istanbul. In 1996, she received a talent scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music and received her B.A. in Jazz Composition summa cum laude in 1998. After graduation, she returned to Istanbul and completed her Master’s in Music at Istanbul Technical University’s Center of Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) in 2003. She taught Piano Performance, Music Theory, and Composition at Istanbul Bilgi University’s Music Department from 1998 to 2015.

坂崎拓也 TAKUYA SAKAZAKI (BASS)
1980年6月26日生まれ。高校卒業後、甲陽音楽学院に入学。卒業後にフラリと行ったジャムセッションで無理矢理弾かされ、悔しい思いをしたのをきっかけにコントラバスを始める。様々なベーシストを研究し、特に北川潔、Christian McBrideのプレイに惹かれる。現在は広瀬未来Quintetをはじめ、中林薫平、宮上啓仁の両氏とともに3Bassでの活動も定期的に行っている。邪悪な音のするベーシストである。

中村亮
彼のドラミングはボストン、バークリー音楽大学で学んだJazz , Blues , R&B の土台の上に、幼少期から慣れ親しんだ沖縄音楽、クラシック音楽の影響が重なる。そのユニークなスタイルから、バンド編成のライブからシンガーとのデュオなど変則的なものまである。現在、自身のバンドelement of the moment, Akira Nakamura Trickstewart Bandに加え、ミュージシャンのみならずダンサー、ペインターなど多方面のアーティストとのコラボレーションも積極的に行っている。 2014年より東京、沖縄などを中心にリズムに関するワークショップも行っている。沖縄県出身。主な共演者 David Fiucyzinski、Sam Kininger、上原ひろみ、Tony Grey、Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra、Angelo Moore (Fishbone)、高良結香、ハナレグミ、Monday 満ちる、タテタカコ等。

AKIRA NAKAMURA (DRUMS)
Akira’s drumming combines the influence of Okinawa music and classical music from his childhood years with the jazz, blues, and R&B foundations he learned at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Because of his unique way of approaching the drums, his shows are not only full band form but many duos with singers or the other instruments. Currently, Akira mainly plays with his own band element of the moment , Akira Nakamura Trickstewart Band and also collaborating with different genre of arts ,such as painters and dancers as well. He also conducts workshops about rhythm and ensemble in Tokyo and Okinawa. His main collaborators include David Fiucyzinski, Sam Kininger, Hiromi Uehara, Tony Grey, Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra, Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Yuka Takara, Hanare Gumi, Monday Michiru, and Tate Takako.
