SELEN GÜLÜN:  Una tra le  piu’ importanti musiciste contemporanee in Turchia, Selen Gülün si distingue  come compositore, pianista, cantante, arrangiatore . Ha ottenuto il plauso della critica internazionale con la sua musica eseguita in tutto il mondo in Austria, Germania, Olanda, Regno Unito, Svezia, Danimarca, Italia, Francia, USA, Brasile, Giappone, Cambogia, Pakistan, Lituania, Russia, Mozambico, Australia e Turchia. Gülün ha pubblicato sei album: Just About Jazz Live (recjazz, 2005), Selen Gülün Trio Sürprizler (recjazz, 2006), Selen Gülün by Selen Gülün (re:konstruKt, 2009), Answers (pozitif, 2010), Başka (linrecords,2013), The Women’s Matinee (A.K. Muzik, 2017). Answers ha raggiunto il # 6 e Başka ha raggiunto il 4 # nella Tabella Jazz Tokyo settimanale. Le sue composizioni sono state eseguite  in prima assoluta da Dartford Symphony Orchestra , dal Vellinger String Quartet (Regno Unito), Ensemble TRIS (Austria), sa.ne.na Percussion Ensemble,e dal  Istanbul Modern Music Ensemble (Turchia). Risiede  a Tokyo e si esibisce con i più’ importanti musicisti giapponesi tra cui:  Issei Igarashi, Keisuke Ohta, Jun Kawasaki, Yoshihito “P” Koizumi, Ryo Shibata, Aki Ozawa, Noriaki Hosoya, and Akira Nakamura. Ha ricevuto numerosi premi, tra cui Charles Mingus Composition Award 1998, British Council Visiting Arts: Creative Collaboration in Music 2003, Fondazione Donna Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Musica’s Artist in Residence Award 2011. Ha studiato musica presso l’Università di Istanbul e le Mimar Sinan University Conservatori e si è laureato da Business Administration Dipartimento di Istanbul University. Ha ricevuto la sua B.A. in Jazz Composition summa cum laude dal Berklee College of Music di Boston (1998) e Master in Musica dal Center of Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM) di Istanbul Technical University.

Diplomato al Berklee College of Music di Boston, dal 2011 al 2016 è stato votato al JAZZIT AWARD tra i migliori sassofonistiitaliani.Tra le collaborazioni: Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone, Fabrizio Bosso, Antonello Salis, Maria Pia De Vito, Rita Marcotulli, Roberta Escamilla Garrison, John B. Il suo MAT-Marcello Allulli Trio, formato con due tra i musicisti più interessanti del panorama italiano, il chitarrista Francesco Diodati edil batterista Ermanno Baron, ha riscosso un grandesuccesso di critica e di pubblico con il disco “Hermanos” (ed. Zone di Musica) che JAZZIT ha inserito tra i migliori album nazionali e internazionali del 2011 e che è stato protagonista di un tour fitto di date in tutta Italia insieme a Fabrizio Bosso. Ad aprile 2014 l’uscita del nuovo e attesoalbum intitolato “MAT”, con ospiti Antonello Salis, Glauco Venier, David Boato e Greta Panettieri, che sarà distribuito anche dal magazine JAZZIT come allegato al numero di gennaio-febbraio 2015. Tra il2011 ed il 2012 è stato Direttore artistico del Music Inn Jazz Club, storico tempio romano del jazz.

SELEN GÜLÜN

As a leading contemporary musician in Turkey, Selen Gülün combines her Western music education and her Turkish soul in her work as composer, pianist, vocalist, and arranger. She attained critical acclaim internationally with her music being performed in 20 countries around the world including the USA, Brazil, Japan, Cambodia, Pakistan, Russia, Mozambique, Australia, and all around Europe. Gülün has released six albums: Just About Jazz Live (recjazz, 2005), Selen Gülün Trio Sürprizler (recjazz, 2006), Selen Gülün by Selen Gülün (re:konstruKt, 2009), Answers (pozitif, 2010), Başka (linrecords,2013), Kadinlar Matinesi (A.K. Müzik, 2017). Answers reached #6 and Başka reached #4 in the Jazz Tokyo Weekly Chart. Gülün / Allulli / De Raymondi’s electroacoustic album KAPI is a multicultural project with her long-term Italian collaborators Marcello Allulli and Emanuele de Raymondi. Kadinlar Matinesi (The Women’s Matinee), released in April 2017, was born out of her concert series featuring the works of women composers in Turkey. Her compositions have been premiered by the Dartford Symphony Orchestra and the Vellinger String Quartet (UK), Ensemble TRIS (Austria), sa.ne.na Percussion Ensemble, and Istanbul Modern Music Ensemble (Turkey). She has received many awards including the Charles Mingus Composition Award 1998 (USA), the British Council Visiting Arts, Creative Collaboration in Music 2003 (UK), and Fondazione Donna Fondazione Adkins Chiti: Donne in Musica’s Artist in Residence Award 2011 (Italy). She is working on a book commissioned by Fondazione Adkins Chiti in Rome, entitled “Woman Composers of Turkey” that will be published in 2017. She studied music at the Istanbul University and the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatories and graduated from Istanbul University’s Business Administration Department. In 1998, she received her B.A. in Jazz Composition summa cum laude from the Berklee College of Music. She received her Master’s in Music at Istanbul Technical University’s Center of Advanced Studies in Music (MIAM). She taught Piano Performance, Music Theory, and Composition at Istanbul Bilgi University’s Music Department from 1998 to 2015. She has given lectures on new music and contemporary music at the Berklee College of Music (Boston), The New School (New York), the Malmö Academy of Music, the Utrecht School of the Arts, TEDx Bogazici University among others.

MARCELLO ALLULLI 

One of the most eclectic saxophonists in Italy, Marcello Allulli is leader, member and special guest of many national and international ensembles, including MAT Marcello Allulli Trio, Maria Pia de Vito Rita Marcotulli Quintet, Glauco Venier Ensemble, Ceccarelli-Allulli duo guest Greta Panettieri, Mufloni, RAJ Trio with Michele Rabbia, and Ettore Fioravanti Quartet. From 2011 to 2016, he was voted among the Best Italian Saxophonists by the Jazzit Awards. His collaborations include Kenny Wheeler, Norma Winstone, Fabrizio Bosso, Antonello Salis, Maria Pia De Vito, Rita Marcotulli, Roberta Escamilla Garrison, John B. Arnold, Ettore Fioravanti, Roberto Gatto, Michel Godard, Tony Scott, Dave Binney, Shai Maestro, and Kamal Musallam. Allulli toured extensively abroad including the USA, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Indonesia, India, Turkey, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Norway, Austria, Finland, Portugal, and Denmark. He has also played at the most prestigious venues in Italy including the Umbria Jazz Festival, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Clusone Jazz Festival, Time in Jazz in Berchidda, Atina Jazz Festival, Poiesis Festival in Fabriano, University La Sapienza of Rome, Villa Celimontana Festival, Teatro Ambra Jovinelli. MAT Marcello Allulli Trio has achieved great success with critics and audiences. MAT’s first album Hermanos features great trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso and was voted one of the best albums of 2011 by Jazzit magazine. In 2014, the trio released MAT with guests Antonello Salis, Glauco Venier, David Boato, and Greta Panettieri. He graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
